LLG councillors cry foul over non-payment of allowance

 SIALUM local level government councillors in Morobe are still crying foul the over non-payment of their monthly K200 allowance for the past 12 months.

Spokesman councillor Teddy Moses said with just a few weeks before the LLG elections, the district administration had not explained to them about the delay in their payments.

He said 19 ward councillors were affected and wanted the provincial administration to establish a treasury office in Sialum to facilitate to their needs.

Moses has also called on the district administrator to ensure that public servants who plan to contest the LLG elections must resign from their positions.

Attempts to contact the provincial administration were unsuccessful yesterday.
