LLG election

Letters

ALMOST 90 per cent of the council wards in the country have not received their ward SIP (support Improvement programme) funds for the last 10 years.
The current government and its coalition partner have failed what they agreed during the formation of the government in Alotau in 2012 and 2017 which is the signing of Alotau accords 1 and 2.
The Alotau Accord requires some of the development plan the government promised to bring to the people.
One such plan is the increasing amount of DSIP, PSIP, and LLG SIP and Ward grants.
Many wards area have not received their funds in the last two terms in their respective LLG although they acquitted through the District Development Authority.
The third tier government (LLG) is the most important government that lives with the people and knew the hardship people a facing daily in terms of the government basic services especially in rural areas and other remote suburban in the urban areas.
If these acquittal reports a still in process through Department of Implementation and Rural Development and Finance Department why so long when we are approaching towards another LLG election.
We need these funds to develop our area, rehabilitate our existing infrastructure and implement new project in our wards for a change.
Please hear our cry your people who we mandated you to be our political leader.
