LLG lauds Sir J’s efforts

NEW Ireland Governor Sir Julius Chan has been commended for his leadership in bringing government services to the people of Lavongai.
The Lavongai local level government last Friday presented a Christmas customary gift of appreciation to Sir Julius in recognition of that.
The organising committee – members of the four wards of Lavongai LLG – conducted an official token of appreciation and cultural ceremonial obligation on Tsoi Island.
The committee thanked Sir Julius for the hard work and the many policies in his first term as governor of the province.
“Your government’s policies have and will help the people meet their legitimate needs and aspirations and they will progress to new levels,” the committee said.
“In the event of your government policies we acknowledge with thanks your:
l    Free education for our children;
l    Old age and disabled;
l    Konomatalik, New Hanover High school;
l    Roof overhead;
l    Revival of chieftains;
l    Ward members pro­ject funding – Ceilings;
l    Resurrection of school buildings, health and church buildings; and
l    New Hanover road soon to come.
“We place our confidence, trust in your leadership and further declare you – an anointed chosen leader to move New Ireland forward,” the committee said.
Sir Julius, who was the main guest speaker at the occasion,  acknowledged the people’s assessment on his leadership quality, performance and have spoken with their heart.
