KOMPIAM-Yangis local level government deputy president has welcomed the developers of the new Koikam gold mining, NRW Holdings Ltd and Paradise Gold Play.

Graham Annson said the people of Kompiam Ambum district, Enga, would start to face changes when the mine starts.

Annson, who claimed to represent 16 other councillors in the LLG, said this was a big development for the Kompiam Ambum and the province as well.

He said with the mining, roads and other infrastructure, developments would follow.

Annson said people were also proud after informed of the changes that would take place.

He said in the next few months, the alluvial and the hard rock drilling would kick off.

Annson thanked the Mining Minister John Pundari, who is also the local MP for Kompiam Ambum, for bringing in the developers.

Meanwhile, he also thanked the Kowe Resource Development Corporation (KRDC) chairman Bob Muyo and director Gabriel Berger for fighting hard for the people and making the mining project become a reality.

He said KRDC was an umbrella company for people and urged them to work closely with the company so that they would see much development.

Annson called on the people not to fight among themselves but work together with the KRDC management.
