THE Department of Provincial and Local Government Affairs presented uniforms to its female staff last Friday .
“It’s a change from native affairs to foreign affairs,” was how department secretary Tau Vali described the presentation.
“I am so pleased to see the women all dressed up in uniforms.
“The men will get theirs soon,” he said.
He said the uniforms should serve as incentives to the staff and also give the department a new and positive image.
The department has 30 women and most of them are executive assistants and a few are senior officers.
Public relations officer Maureen Puiahi said the women looked more professional now and they should take pride in serving the department.
The uniforms were all sewn by WGM Tailoring, a local firm.
The women staff thanked the department for initiating the dress code.
