Local association heads into play-offs after tough season

THE Manubada Volleyball Association’s DataCo Cup grand finals tip off tomorrow with Kira Kira village’s Kapua and Gereka’s GIG aiming for the reserve men’s and women’s titles respectively.
The Kapua women’s side head into the decider as favourites with the team maintaining a perfect run at the Sir John Guise Indoor Complex in Port Moresby.
A young GIG women’s side will be on the offensive with Karo Keneke and Badiri Keimolo boosting their side following their 3-2 win over Vabukori village’s Hua last week.
In the men’s reserve division, Kapua booked an early spot in the decider while GIG put on a match-winning performance against Hua in last week’s semifinal.
The men’s premier division sees GIG on standby for the winners of the semifinal between Kapua and Bros.
The DataCo Cup grand finals follow six months of competition after continuous disruptions in the sporting calendar this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
