LOCAL businessman Edward Kiza has thanked Ramu NiCo for providing training to farmers on poultry and piggery management in the Usino-Bundi district of Madang.
The two-week training was held Uria village by Ramu NiCo community affairs officers organised by the Wekmara poultry project.
Kiza said people in rural areas of Kurumbukari and Usino-Bundi were now noticing positive changes in their living standards since Ramu NiCo came to the district.
“This is as the result of infrastructure development including the new road up to Kurumbukari plateau and a bridge across the Ramu River,” he said.
Kiza said the knowledge on how to do business had not really sunk in.
“Our knowledge and skills to do business is still low and it is obvious that not many of us are into doing sustainable businesses,” he said.
Kiza is confident Usino-Bundi district would see major development taking place in next 10 to 20 years.
He challenged those who attended the training to put into practice what they learnt to develop their communities.
