BUSINESSwomen in the country who attended the first PNG Asia Pacific economic cooperation women leaders’ network meeting recently, agreed to unify as a body to combat constraints in business.
The meeting was coordinated by Melanesian Women’s PNG Inc (MWI) and its mission was empowering PNG women economically using capacity in business networking through traditional environment.
During the meeting, the main difficulties PNG women faced in their various ventures in business were tabled and alternate resolutions presented.
The main agenda was the difficulties to access funds from government organisations and banks.
They resolved to make special request to devise policies where they could give special consideration for women in business to have easy access to funds.
MWI chairperson Maria Hayes said: “We want the banks to be linear with their policies especially when women are trying to get loans.”
