Locally-owned app works with BSP to offer online payments

THE locally-owned PNG JiveMarket is working with the Bank South Pacific (BSP) e-commerce family in offering online payments via their website.
A statement from BSP said JiveMarket was a mobile phone app that allowed users to buy and sell online.
It provided vendors and businesses an alternative platform to order and purchase products and services.
Since its establishment in 2018, the business expanded its reach to cover all provinces, collaborating with PNG Power to offer EasiPay tokens purchase, Digicel for airtime flex, Telikom and bmobile for mobile top-ups for consumption or reselling. Owner Jaive Smare said: “This partnership with BSP is a blessing for us and our customers, as they can now use their credit cards to purchase services online through the JiveMarket app.
“We have found that many Papua New Guineans living overseas are using the service to purchase EasiPay and mobile phone top-ups for their families in PNG.
“For Jivers, it is a handy alternative if they can’t find their normal distributor in time.”
BSP said while cash, Eftpos and other methods of payment remained dominant, the growth in customer appetite for convenient online payments had businesses across segments, adopting e-commerce technology.
E-commerce continued to revolutionise traditional ways of doing business and influence the behaviour of the way customers pay for goods and services.
“I want to thank BSP for putting effort into establishing this payment gateway.”
