MORE than 2,000 people of the Usino-Bundi electorate gathered at the Ramu Station outside Madang to welcome their local MP and Education Minister Jimmy Uguro and his delegates.
They included Agriculture Minister John Simon.
Several projects such as the Ramu technical and vocational education training (Tvet) school mess were opened by the ministers on Saturday.
Two vehicles were presented including 200 sewing machines.
Usino-Bundi administrator Steven Biko said they were delighted that Prime Minister James Marape had faith and trust in Uguro and given him the education ministry.
It was a bonus for the district and Madang, Biko said.
District women’s representative Margaret Sawai thanked the ministers for the projects in the district and those in the pipeline.
Uguro was in the district to present two vehicles, a police vehicle to the Ramu Police Station, an ambulance to Gusap health centre and 200 sewing machines to women’s groups.
Among projects opened were the Ramu Tvet mess hall, Drai Wara Power project, Ramu AOG church, inland fish farming and Sankiang village water project. Simon urged the people to work hard and sell their own crops to earn money.
