ISUZU National Cup director Rodney Maha says he is impressed with Daure Lohia Jr (Isuzu Red) and Eddie Alewa (Isuzu Black) following standout performances from the two all season.
Maha told The National that both players showed significant improvement in their bowling and were standouts in the Cup final at Amini Park in Port Moresby on Sunday.
“For Red, Lohia bowled really well,” he said.
“He has shown one of the biggest improvements as a players since he came into the tournament, he was also part of the smash tournament last year.
“He’s a natural player with the ball and he is probably one of the determining factors why Red were in the final because of his consistency.
“There’s another young player from Keapara, Alewa, who featured a lot in their bowling as an opening bowler and their first change.
“It was the influence from Lega Siaka and Assad Vala that gave him that extra confidence in the tournament.
“They’re both from local competitions and they’ve really stepped up with good performances.”
