Look after Mendi GH
The National – Monday, February 28, 2011
THE recent positive developments taking place at the Mendi General Hospital is welcome news.
The hospital once had many expatriates but they left due to tribal conflicts.
It was awarded a 5-star rating last year.
The latest waste management system introduced by the Health Department must be commended and the MRDC also deserves to be praised for installing a brand new back-up generator.
The recent K1 million allocation by the Mendi MP for doctors’ accommodation is definitely good news.
This will hopefully attract more specialists to serve there.
I would also like to commend the specialists who stayed put despite the trying conditions.
Enga Governor Peter Ipatas must also be thanked for donating a huge sum of money to the hospital.
I appeal to the people to embrace these changes and look after the Mendi GH.
