PUBLIC servants in Madang on Monday had their dedication service to mark the start of the new public service year.
The commemoration service held at Gospel Light House church in Madang was attended by administrator Frank Lau, district administrators, senior sectoral heads and public servants in the province.
It was the day where public servants came together with determination and anticipation to ensure the public service progress into the new year is carried out well in different sectors of the government in the province.
Gospel Light House senior pastor Kario Veneo, when delivering his sermon, emphasised on the public servants’ role in building the province and nation.
“You are the human resources that will keep the public sector rolling smoothly throughout the year in the province by giving your best in delivering government service to the people,” Pr Veneo told the public servants.
Administrator Lau reminded public servants of their roles, purposes and responsibilities.
“Today marks the time that we rededicate ourselves to the noble calling that binds us together,” Lau said.
He told the provincial servants that they were the stewards of a province that was blessed and rich in culture.
“The past has tested us with many challenges in business, social challenges, law and order issues, natural disasters and others but yet through it all, the flame of our public service still burns brighter,” he said.
He told the public servants to uphold the highest standards of integrity and accountability during their delivery of services.
