Madang plans to host Mamose Besta Regional qualifiers next month

PLANS are well underway to host the Mamose Besta Regional soccer qualifiers in Madang next month.
The qualifiers are an annual tournament run in the Mamose region to identify the top member associations to represent at the Besta PNGFA MA finals in Lae in November. The tournament will be held in Madang at Laiwaden Oval from August 10-14.
The local organising committee is putting together activity plans for the tournament with preparations for kick-starting a fundraising drive.
Organising committee chairman John Marapal said he would be writing to Madang Governor Jim Kas for provincial government support.
“As hosts of the tournament we are excited about the prospect of staging the event in Madang,” Marapal said.
“We know that soccer plays an important role by reinforcing positive values and reducing negative social behaviour in the community but more so it gives talented our talented youth a chance to express themselves.”
Marapal urged participants to contact the organising committee immediately to register their interest in the tournament so they can be booked for registration.
