Madang will showcase tourism potential in show

TOUR operators around the country will converge on Madang in September for the 2019 Lukim PNG Nau tourism expo.
They will explore potential tourism investments and promotions.
Madang Governor Peter Yama said Madang was a tourist town and he would support the hosting of the national tourism event there.
Yama said Madang had the best lagoons and many islands but was not getting the exposure needed to attract tourists.
Organisers are working out a date in September for the Maborasa Festival which does not clash with the Independence Day celebrations.
“We have many singsing groups on standby for the event,” Yama said.
Last year, singsing groups from remote areas of Middle Ramu, Simbai and Raicoast performed during the festival.
Yama invites tourists to come to Madang to watch the festival.
