WAIGANI District Court Magistrate Cosmas Bidar has reserved his ruling on an application filed by the prosecution to revoke the bail granted to two policemen charged with causing grievous bodily harm.
Police prosecutor Shellian Pius submitted that the bails be revoked because the alleged offence took place in Kimbe. The case will now be heard by the District Court in Kimbe.
Officers George Sete and Konnie Kuk were each charged with a count of assault causing grievous bodily harm to a teenager at Kimbe in July. The matter was adjourned to December 11 for a ruling.
Pius said if the matter was transferred to Kimbe, the officers might not attend court if they were on bail.
Defence lawyer Ila Paelaea from the Office of the Public Solicitor argued that proper procedures were not being followed and thus their bails should not be revoked.
