Make savings available

Letters

I AM pleased with what the Government, Nasfund, Nambawan Super and other superfunds are collectively doing to help those employees directly affected by Covid-19.
I respect the counter arguments of my proposal.
However, I like to suggest freeing up the savings of all employees (members) and allowing voluntary withdrawal of a certain percentage of their savings on four grounds.

  • IT will greatly help members stock up required resources and meet other related costs;
  • MEMBERS will enjoy some part of their hard earned savings before it is too late;
  • THE released savings will significantly stimulate the economy; and,
  • A SIGNIFICANT proportion of these funds will go into the hands of the garden food producers.

  • I totally agree with Keimelo Gima. If you look at the reality of the economic of this country, both the unemployed and the employed are hit hard together due to high cost of living in the country. And in reality, average Papua New Guineans are not paid enough salaries/wages to sustain their families for 2 weeks.
    Freeing up the savings for all members right across will surely assist member families during this critical times.
