Mald must explain support unit move

Letters, Normal

I AM a voter in the Port Moresby northeast electorate.
I would like to make some comments on the projects funded by my local MP, Andrew Mald.
He has been funding projects in his electorate and must be commended.
I would like to know why public funds were paid “mushroom organisations or firms” which do not have any track record.
I refer to a particular support unit, which appeared on EMTV (April 12) and The National (April 13), that carried out HIV/AIDS awareness campaign at the Wardstrip Primary School.
In PNG, the National AIDS Council is the only organisation which should be funded to carry out awareness and other information on HIV/AIDS.
Other firms or organisations that wish to carry out awareness on HIV/AIDS must undergo certain trainings and courses and be certified by the National AIDS Council before they can disseminate information on HIV/AIDS.
