A 30-YEAR-OLD man, from Southern Highlands, was charged in the Waigani Committal Court yesterday with murder for allegedly stabbing a man to death in Port Moresby’s Erima on Aug 5.
Magistrate Jacinta Doa read out the charge to Samson Haloki, from Tari’s Tigibi village, and fixed Oct 28 for second mention.
Haloki continues to be remanded in Bomana prison.
He is alleged to have on Aug 5, at the Erima flyover betel nut market between 7am and 8am, confronted Siri Komba and stabbed him multiple times all over his body with a knife.
Komba collapsed and he allegedly grabbed an iron rod to threaten people and fled.
A cabby under the flyover bridge then used his taxi to transport Komba to hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
