A MAN has been arrested and chartged with the sexual abuse of a girl with disability.
He was charged by police in Kokopo on Monday.
He appeared in court yesterday and was remanded in custody. East New Britain police commander Senior Inspector Joseph Tabali said police had charged Philip Tarukal, 28, from Ganai, Bitapaka local level government, with “persistent sexual abuse”.
Tabali said the suspect had on three occasions between Sept 22 and Oct 3 sexually penetrated the 13-year-old victim at different locations.
“On the first occasion, the accused pushed the victim to the floor in the kitchen and used his finger to sexually penetrate her,” Tabali said.
“In the second occasion, the suspect forced the victim into his room, removed her clothes and forcefully had sex with her.
“On the final occasion, the suspect threatened the victim and took her to a secluded spot under a tree and sexual penetrated her.
“In all the cases, force and threats were used.”
