Man dies in road accident
ONE man died after a vehicle transporting Kagua-Erave MP Wesley Raminai went off the road in Western Highlands on Thursday afternoon.
The deceased was Rali Kawane, from Yalu village in the Kagua-Erave district. He was a former LLG president.
The hired vehicle driven by a member of the Kagua-Erave district treasury office was trying to negotiate a bend in lower Nebilyer. It ran off road and several metres down a ravine before coming to a stop on its roof.
Western Highlands police commander Jacob Kamiak said the Highway Patrol and traffic police were investigating the incident.
Raminai, the sports vice-minister, was admitted to the Kudjip Nazarene Hospital in Jiwaka, while the driver of the vehicle is in Mt Hagen General Hospital with chest injuries.
Another survivor of the accident sustained minor injuries.

Anyone can drive a car. Even a kid or an old person. So don’t know why we have so many reckless drivers in PNG who thinks and wants to be seen as expert drivers. Especially those who drive 5 doors, and latest cars. No need to show your stunts as you’ll still see you faith one day. Reckless driving pays off with injuries and deaths.

Nothing wrong with the car.
The driver, inexperienced or driving to fast to negotiate slippery wet roads round tight corners, drove off the road Not the vehicle.
Garry is still talking nonsense. How do you know nothing is wrong with the car? Are you the one who fixed the car before the driver drove out?
That’s what happens when you waste money on flashy hired cars with tinted windows. Maybe alcohol was involved, maybe over speeding or maybe the driver had no experience. People never learn.
We have to drive safely. The car has 4 wheels and still take us home.
Every body knew how to drive, but the problem and accidents and harm holdups is everywhere around our country!!!
It the result of turning at very high speed to negotiate the bend. Reduding the speed before turning could avoid these nasty accident thus save live. Speeds kills. Simple daily traffic rules for drivers.
