MANUS police have arrested one of three men who allegedly took turns to rape a 12-year-old girl in Ward 1, Lorengau, on July 14.
Describing the men as animals and “people who are sick in their head”, police commander Chief Insp David Yapu advised the two on the run to surrender.
Yapu said a 22-year-old man was charged with raping the girl and was remanded in the Lorengau Prison by the Lorengau district court .
The girl told police on Monday that she was forced out of her house on Sunday by a man who took her to his house and allegedly raped her.
He then took her to another house where another man also raped her.
The second man then took the girl to another man who repeated the offence.
She was released at 5am on Monday. Yapu said three men allegedly threatened to kill her if she resisted. Police identified the suspect who was from Kari Village in Lorengau.
“We have the identities of the two still at large and hope to arrest them soon.
“Surrender or face the full brunt of the law (when we hunt you down),” he added.
