Man jailed 1 year for drug possession

A 26-YEAR-OLD man was jailed a year by a district court in Lae for having marijuana.
Magistrate James Morog on Monday said Boss Sano, from Usino Bundi in Madang, knowingly had in his possession 122 marijuana packs valued at K1 each wrapped in cigarette filters.
On Aug 14, Sano was caught having marijuana in his bag at Value Village Second Hand in Lae’s Eriku.
A security guard at the baggage locker counter noticed the packs of marijuana in the bag when she was trying to lock the bag up in the locker.
The court heard that the woman guard then reported the matter to the police who then arrested Sano.
