AN Asian married to a Papua New Guinean woman and has been living in the country for more than 10 years has been ordered to pay K2000 for breaching his visa conditions.
Zow Zow, from Myanmar, pleaded guilty in the Waigani District Court of breaching visa obligations under section 16 of the Migration Act.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar said the penalty should include a maximum fine of K5000, or six months in prison. But he said a “reasonable penalty should be considered as Zow already has a family and he would not wish to be separated from them”.
