A MAN charged with raping a pregnant woman on her way to the hospital for treatment after a fight with her husband has been denied bail by a court.
Acting Gulf police commander Senior Inspector Michael Pakyei said Warren Forova, 29, of Omati village, Kikori appeared before the Kerema District Court yesterday.
The court denied him bail and adjourned the matter to Oct 9.
He is facing a charge of sexual penetration.
Pakyei said the 20-year-old woman was on her way to the hospital last week to seek medical attention after a fight with her husband. “She had experienced pains in her body after the fight and was going to the hospital,” he said.
“She passed Forova along the track who (allegedly) dragged her into a bush and raped her.”
Pakyei said a passing hospital worker heard her screaming in the bush and went to her aid.
He said Forova fled, and the hospital worker called for an ambulance which took her to the hospital.
She was admitted for three days.
Hospital staff reported the matter to police and Forova was arrested and charged with alleged rape of a pregnant woman.

  • This is inhuman and he must be dealt accordingly with hardcore labor in prison. its good that judge denied his bail. personally he doesn’t deserve any bail. let him rot in prison.

  • Kikori, Omati busk kanaka…. Nothing good coming out from the remote village.
Backward mentality deserves to be severely punished and sent to prison.
Lock him up good and let him serve life imprisonment.
He should be castrated, animal brain.

  • More of this is happening around PNG.
    WHY is a good Question.
Because PEOPLE’S MINDSET HAD BEEN RE-SHAPED!
