Manning eases travel condition

NO approval from the pandemic response controller will be required for international arrivals from Wednesday.
Controller David Manning told The National that this meant passengers arriving from overseas would no longer be required to quarantine.
These include passengers from India and the Philippines, he said.
“However, this means all passengers will still need to show evidence at check-in of being fully vaccinated prior to coming into the country and vice versa because countries around the world are allowing travellers into their country if they are fully vaccinated,” Manning said.
“All passengers will still need to complete a polymerase chain reaction test within 72 hours of their departure from any country and will still need to undertake a rapid test on arrival.” This means testing on arrival is still a condition of entry.
It is user pay at the moment from all international destinations except Australia.
“For Air Niugini flights arriving from Australia, testing will be conducted free of charge by ISOS, because international SOS is being paid by the Australian government to test passengers coming to and from Australia,” Manning said.
“For all other flights, the arrival testing will be conducted by Trakpro at a cost of K350 per passenger.
“Passengers being tested by Trakpro are recommended to download and complete the ‘Scram TouchPoint’ app in advance from Apple’s AppStore or from Android’s Google Play Store.”
