Manning promises investigation

MORE than 100 complaints have been registered against police since the state of emergency kicked in, controller David Manning says.
“Rest assured that I will have them all investigated thoroughly,” Manning, also the Comm of Police, said. “Complaints, if substantiated, will be acted upon.
“In the same way, those who make malicious or false complaints will also be dealt with.”
Manning has to date issued 32 national emergency orders which were basically to help the joint agency task force deliver the Government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said various supporting directives had also been issued from time to time as and when the situation warranted.
“For education, all primary and secondary schools within PNG are to conduct inspections and complete a prescribed checklist to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 to their students, staff and surrounding communities,” he said.
