Manus stands with Pomat

Letters

IN light of the looming court submission by the Opposition leader Belden Namah against our elected leader MP and Parliament Speaker Job Pomat, we, the people of Manus, stand by our elected leader.
We will stand by him.
We salute Prime Minister James Marape for his leadership and for recognising the people of Manus through the speaker.
As people of the smallest island province, we are concerned that the speaker’s chair has now caused us much inconvenience, not once but twice, since the previous hiccup involving our Governor Charlie Benjamin during late Jeffrey Nape’s tenure as speaker.
As humans, we all make mistakes and we accept whatever consequences befalls our leader.
We stand to be corrected, however, we would have acknowledged corrections by other means as opposed to what Namah is alluding to.
We shall wait and see what transpires.
