FOR women providing catering services to teams at the PNG Games in Kimbe, many hands make light work.
They are members of the Catholic Mama Group from Section 21 Community Pastoral Council in Kimbe and they are providing meals to team Southern Highlands.
Group president Josephine Chris said the 52 women were to provide meals for team New Ireland but they failed to turn up.
“We lost hope because we had put a lot of energy and resources preparing for a team, but God saw our efforts and sent us a team (Southern Highlands),” she said.
Team Southern Highlands are residing at Karl Hesse Primary School.
“When the head teacher, Patricia Nguna, announced that Team Southern Highlands were coming to the school, word quickly spread among our group and mothers popped up everywhere at once,” Chris said.
“They moved quickly and gathered in the school playing field.
“As soon as we saw a convoy of vehicles entering the school, the boom box blasted the song Mount Lemina and we cheered the team in.
“Now they are in full swing preparing meals using the school’s makeshift hall.”
