MAPRIK MP John Simon has presented his acquittal for the K2 million cocoa price support scheme in his district to the PNG Cocoa Board and urged other districts benefiting from the price support to do the same.
Simon, who is also Agriculture Minister, said this in Port Moresby yesterday when presenting the acquittal report to the Cocoa Board chief executive officer Boto Gaupu.
He said acquittals for money made available by the Prime Minister James Marape and distributed through the Cocoa Board.
“I would like to call on all districts, that when we are given such support, we must acquit for it,” he said.
“I’m giving this (acquittal) to the Cocoa Board on behalf of the district’s business arm, Maprik Investment Ltd, funds were given at the beginning of this year.”
Gaupu urged other districts that benefitted from the price support scheme to submit acquittals to the board.
