Maprik needs change

Letters

The New Year 2018 no doubt will bring its own challenges for every person — either personal or corporate.
Reflecting back to 2017, one will have a sense of appreciation if only he/she has made a progress towards achieving a set goal.
Having stated that, here are a few remarks on Maprik leadership in East Sepik.
There are some incomplete projects in Maprik that need attention.
A term has lapsed and nothing has been done to complete the rural electrification that halts at Maprik Junction.
I challenge Maprik MP John Simon to show true leadership by continuing the project along the Sepik Highway to Bonohwi junction bordering Ambunti-Drekikir.
Forget the politics and show the quality of leadership by delivering much-needed services to the people you represent.
Distribute services evenly to all, whether they voted you or not.
Look at service delivery in a different perspective rather than a political one.
Concentrating on town area is not true service.
A true service is better-sealed feeder roads, access to clean water, access to electricity, hospital, school and port services, just to name a few.
As we begin a fresh year, let’s begin with humbleness and servanthood leadership which truly reflects the people of Central Sepik.
It begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve first.
Servant leadership is a philosophy and set of practices that enriches the lives of individuals, builds better organisations and creates a more just and caring society.
Maprik can grow to another level only if we plan and set our priorities right and execute those preceding activities up-front.
