PRIME Minister James Marape has allocated K32 million to various projects in Chimbu, including K10 million for a road in the Salt-Nomane Karamui electorate.
He allocated K2 million each to the six districts of Chimbu for education programmes, K5 million to the Sir Joseph Nombri Kundiawa General Hospital and K5 million to the Kundiawa town water supply.
Marape and his delegation viewed from the air on Friday where a bridge will be built across the Waghi River to Karamui.
They were guests of Salt-Nomane Karimui MP Geoffery Kama who recently was replaced as Minister for Labour and Industrial Relations.
“All your MPs are quality leaders capable of becoming prime minister but they stood at my back and made me prime minister,” Marape said.
He called for cooperation and unity among leaders to ensure the province progressed.
“I am surprised to see MP Kama bringing road into Karamui and is about to tap into the potential of remote Karamui,” Marape, the Tari-Pori MP, said.
In a dinner hosted by the provincial government, Chimbu Governor Michael Dua assured Marape that he and the six MPs would maintain their support for the Government.
“If there is a vote of no confidence, the seven MPs from Chimbu will stand with the Marape government,” Dua said.
