Marape: Move into business

National

PRIME Minister James Marape has urged public servants to save up and participate in business programmes that his government was embarking on.
Marape, speaking at the launch of the Prime Minister’s Department and National Executive Council (NEC) Housing Policy and Plan of Action, told the public servants that many of them had been in the service for a long time and needed to move into business opportunities to sustain their lives on retirement.
“Some of you have worked with the public service for a long time, I urge you to save your money. Your retrenchment money can lead directly to the necessary funds.”
He said the Government was willing to support public servants who wanted to use their money to invest.
“For those who are not engaged out there, we are encouraging you pick up a business idea and utilise resources within your own means; including your own coffee, cocoa, copra and vanilla whatever it is.”

  • Mention oil palm here as well.
West New Britain Trust from Oil palm paid public servants’ salaries through PNG last 2 consecutive fortnights.
