PRIME Minister James Marape has applauded retiring TotalEnergies PNG managing director Jean-Marc Noiray, for guiding the Papua LNG project through its critical stages of development.
Marape thanked Noiray for his leadership and expertise in the past six years.
His efforts led the project to the Front-End Engineering Design (Feed) stage, which is an essential stage for the realisation of the initiative.
“I would like to extend my deep gratitude to Mr Noiray for his dedication and invaluable contributions in steering the Papua LNG project to its current stage,” he said.
“His work has not only been crucial to the project but also strengthened the partnership between TotalEnergies and Papua New Guinea.”
Marape said the outgoing managing director’s legacy would serve as a lasting testament to his dedication to PNG, as he was leaving behind a solid foundation upon which stakeholders of the project could continue to build a prosperous future for PNG.
“I wish Noiray all the best in his future endeavours.
“He will always remain a friend of Papua New Guinea, and we will welcome him back any time.”
A farewell dinner for him was attended by Petroleum Minister Jimmy Maladina, Attorney-General and Justice Minister Pila Niningi, State Negotiating Team chairman Dairi Vele and Mineral Resources Development Company managing director Augustine Mano.
