Maru hits back at Bonga

Lae News, Normal

THE managing director of the National Development Bank (NDB) Richard Maru has hit back at Nawaeb MP Timothy Bonga for his comments in the media yesterday questioning the bank on the whereabouts of the K2 million allocated for commercial chicken projects in Lae, Morobe.
Mr Maru said NDB had not withdrawn the money and that K1.3 million was still in the balance to fund further chicken projects in the province.
“We are waiting to process more bankable chicken loans under our partnership with Mainland Holdings,” he added, saying funds will only be made available if they received bankable loan applications.
Mr Maru said Mr Bonga had no idea of projects NDB was funding in the province and branded his comments as “childish media outburst and a cheap shot to get back at NDB for taking him to court and winning the case against him”.
