The National, Friday 14th of February, 2014
TRADE Commerce and Industry Minister and Yangoru-Saussia MP Richard Maru will launch the indigenous business council of Jiwaka on Thursday, Feb 27.
The minister will deliver the keynote speech at the fundraising dinner for the council.
The launch would also see the opening of a branch of the National Development Bank in Jiwaka
Maru thanked the patron of the council and Jiwala Governor Dr William Tongamp for his K100,000 funding to the council to help in set up its office and to start its operations.
He said Jiwaka was a new province and needed to build a strong economy to provide the much-needed job opportunities for its people.
Marus said the province needed to generate internal revenue to support its growth and development.
“The SME sector in Jiwaka needs to be supported and empowered to lead the province’s development and I look forward to the launching,” Maru said.
