PORT Moresby contestant Mereani Masani will join youngster Brian Kepi in the Digicel Stars 2 semi-final show to compete in the battle of raw talents.
According to a statement from Digicel (PNG) Ltd, Mereani pulled through as the “judges’ choice” in last week’s elimination round two show.
“With a reggae music theme for the show, all contestants showed outstanding performances with much energy and passion while singing their song of choice,” the statement said.
“The young beauty from Morobe, Fiji and the Trobriand Islands impressed the judges with her soulful performance of Bob Marley’s song No woman no cry.
“Mereani was also dressed for the part and came across not only as talented but very entertaining.”
Mereani and Brian will also compete for the “viewers’ choices” category from the elimination round one show, Alotau group Night Shift and NCD contestant Andrew Napolean in the semi-final show on Sunday.
“Viewers again have the opportunity to vote back two of their favourite contestants from the elimination round two show by texting their choice’s first name to 1699.
“The contestants in the semi-finals are Benji Bigilam from Mt Hagen, Kokopo’s Allan Jim, Lae contestant Jeremiah Mathias, Alotau’s Ben Lovai and NCD contestants Emma Kamura, Henrietta Gorea and Gideon Singur,” Digicel said.
