Masere deserved to come back

Letters

AS a visitor to Northern last year and living there for some time, I came to witness certain things former Ijivitari MP Richard Masere did for the people of his electorate were as amazing.
What I saw made me wonder why other MPs have not done the same for their electorate and people.
Masere, who was vice-minister for foreign investment for a short term, managed to roll out roofing iron to different communities under the Rausim Sisoro or remove sago leaf project.
He donated more than 10 trucks to different communities to ease their transport burdens.
He also donated banana boats (dinghies) to communities along the coast.
Under the transport rollout programme, Masere also made donation of some trucks and buses to certain schools and other institutions in the electorate.
Among the list of other projects he funded was the rural electrification project from Jonita to Girua and funding the rollout and installation of solar panel lights for some communities along the Oro Bay Highway.
He also assisted the SME groups with the supply of day old chicks and full set stocked bags of starter, grower and finisher.
During his term in office, Masere also upgraded and build some new health and market facilities in the electorate.
In my view, what Masere has done was too much because I haven’t seen as much being done in other electorates around PNG.
Masere deserved another parliament and this was evident through the ballots for this election.
You are a true leader who put the interest of people and electorate at the forefront.
Congratulations on your re-election as the MP for the new Popondetta electorate.
I also take this opportunity to thank the people of newly created Popondetta Open for voting RM back to parliament.
You will see more good things.
