SOUTH Bougainville MP Timothy Masiu, pictured, is inviting donors to fund development projects in the district.
“I call on aid donors or donor agencies to support my electorate in funding some of the development projects outlined in this (five-year) plan,” he said.
Masiu submitted a five-year district development plan to acting National Planning and Monitoring Secretary Koney Samuel.
“This development plan is the result of intense consultation with the ordinary people at the grassroots level, stakeholders and government and non-government agencies,” he said.
“I can say that it’s a homegrown plan.
“This is the outcome of two years of work. It is indeed a bottom-up planning concept being realised in which ordinary people at the village/wards and community government and constituency levels through the South Bougainville Leaders Forum were involved.
“Their views are captured in this document.”
Maisu thanked the people of Torokina, Bana, Siwai, Buin, Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) MPs, chiefs, community leaders, ex-combatant leaders, youth, women, church leaders and public servants for their support.
“All leaders contributed immensely and their contributions are captured in this plan.
“I call on all constituencies in South Bougainville, the community governments and the wards to have your own five-year development plans aligned to this plan.”
