LANDOWNER company Mainland Suppliers and Services Contractors (Massco) will build its capacity through joint-venture (JV) tie up to involve more landowners in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects allowed within the engineering procurement contracts (EPC) scheme.
Massco executive chairman Jerome Kairi told The National yesterday his company would seek joint venture partners to participate as major subcontractors with EPC projects.
Massco is one of the two landowner companies apart from Gigira Development Corp (GDC) of Hides petroleum development licence (PDL) 1 that met all the criteria and conditions set by ExxonMobil.
Massco is a Gobe PDL4 umbrella landowner company and has aligned itself with other landowners and landowner companies to operate along various project segments.
Kairi said such JV arrangements would minimise problems related to landowner frustrations.
He is now calling on the contractors, particularly EPC2, EPC3, PEC5CA and C1 to meet with officials, leaders and managements of those landowner companies immediately.
Kairi said Massco was ready with its South Korean partner, CoDA & Associates, to take on all the major EPC sub-contracts.
He assured both the EPCs and ExxonMobil that company resource mobilisation would begin soon.
