MCC shares experience of proposed project

The Ramu NiCo Management (MCC) Ltd shared its experiences in the proposed Frieda River gold/copper project with a delegation from the West Sepik administration last Friday.
The company through its community affairs, corporate office and health safety and environment departments hosted a 12-member delegation from the West Sepik administration, who are a stakeholders in the Frieda River gold/copper project.
The West Sepik administration went for a study tour since the Frieda River project envisage similar plan as the Ramu NiCo mine.
Ramu NiCo’s community affairs manager Albert Tobe explained the history of the project, the memorandum of agreement, business development and spin-off benefits and landowner participation in the project via employment opportunities.
The delegation were given an overview of the Ramu NiCo tailings disposal technology – the deep sea tailings placement by the company’s corporate HSE manager Jason Jia.
MCC was happy to share the project’s intervention in addressing current and future socio-economic situations consistent with the Government’s vision and goals captured in the PNG Vision 2050.
