Mead suffers injury

CATALANS Dragons have confirmed that David Mead will miss the next few weeks after suffering a torn abductor tendon.
He appeared in their Feb 1 defeat to Huddersfield in the English Super League but the 31-year-old left the field through injury midway through the contest.
The Papua New Guinea international underwent scans last week to discover the extent of his injuries and will now miss their forthcoming fixtures.
The injury leaves the Dragons short in the outside backs following injuries to Lewis Tierney and Tom Davies, plus Brayden Wiliame’s departure in the offseason.
They are also without controversial centre Israel Folau after the 30-year-old was left out of their 21-man squad for last weekend’s clash with Wakefield as he tries to return to full fitness. – loverugbyleague
