Medical meeting starts in Moresby

THE annual Medical Symposium will be held this week in Port Moresby.
About 400 participants are expected to attend the week-long conference at the Gateway Hotel.
With the theme “Natural resource development and its impact on health services”, the 48th symposium will emphasise the holistic approach of proper delivery of medical services in the light of natural resources and its development in the medical field. 
Organising committee chairman Dr David Mokela said the symposium would see presentations of reports, papers, thesis, abstracts and ideas from medical and research specialists.
The guest speaker is Prof Tukutau Taufa from James Cook University in Australia.
The symposium starts today and ends on Friday.
The symposium was organised and coordinated by the Medical Society of PNG at a cost of K500,000 that was partly contributed by the go­vernment, private hospitals and business houses.
