THE joint supervisory body (JSB) meeting between the Autonomous Bougainville Government (ABG) and the national government is set to begin today at the Sir Mansupe Haus in Port Moresby.
The director of the National Coordination of Bougainville Affairs John Anuma says the two governments are to discuss developments and political agendas concerning their relationships, including establishment of the consultation processes.
Anuma said the meeting would be co-chaired by Prime Minister James Marape and ABG President John Momis to look in to the final referendum report in which 98 per cent of Bougainvilleans voted in favour of independence last year.
Bougainville Peace Agreement representatives of both governments, Sir Puka Temu and ABG Minister Albert Punghau, will also be attending the meeting.
Anuma said the meeting would consult the outcome of the referendum and negotiate with detailed assessments prior to tabling it at Parliament to decide the fate of Bougainville’s political future.
