MENDI Muruks winger Leon Undupia scored five minutes from fulltime and halfback Joshia Jimmy kicked the winning goal from the sideline as they beat Hela Wigmen 18-16 in Port Moresby yesterday.
The round-seven Digicel Cup win at the Oil Search National Football Stadium pushed the Petroleum Resource Kutubu-sponsored Muruks to second spot on the 12-team ladder.
The Muruks share equal competition points with leaders Lae Tigers, who recorded their first loss at the hands of Port Moresby Vipers in the first match of the double-header.
Reigning premiers Wigmen dropped to third.
Fullback Dickson Pipi won the Digicel man of the match award.
