THE Mendi development authority is partnering Kumul Telikom Holdings (KTH) Ltd for the erection of communication towers.
Local MP Michael Nali, who is Works Minister, said during a signing ceremony in Port Moresby yesterday that communication services were important for service delivery.
He said a better telecommunication network and access would enable people to be part of the digital age and tap into small to medium enterprises, improve and boost education outcomes and other services.
“We need to reach the unreached and it is an important partnership, we believe strongly in setting the infrastructure right,” Nali said.
“This thing will go a long way. It will help our kids to learn better things and improve education.”
KTH acting managing director Jessie Wangua said six towers would be built in the district, with a 50-50 funding partnership.
