Methodists visit mothers, children at hospital

A WOMAN must carry her unborn child for nine months and labour in pain to establish the strong bond of love and care between her and the child, a pastor says
Women at the Madang’s Modilon hospital labour ward were told this yesterday by the Chinese Methodist church pastor Stephan Wang.
Wang and fellow Chinese Methodists church members visited the labour and children’s ward and presented gift bags to more than 30 children.
He said babies were gifts from God and he allowed them to fully develop in their mother’s womb and learn their first lessons for nine months which was for them to respect and obey their mothers.
Wang urged mothers to take advantage of that and bring their children to church so they would grow up with good principles and be good citizens in their communities.
He said PNG was a Christian country and almost everyone had a church to attend every Saturday or Sunday.
Ivy Feng, a Chinese business woman, said the Chinese Methodist church was still confined to the Chinese Mandarin language speaking community and was inspired to give gifts to children in hospitals or centres for the disabled.
