Middle Ramu MP needs to wake up

Letters

ON behalf of the silent majority of people in the Middle Ramu district in Madang, I wish to air my view with regards to poor services/development in the electorate.
We have heard, read and seen through the media how MPs in other electorates around the country are being praised by their people for what they have done and are doing.
Sadly, we never have ever heard anything about what the past and current MP in Middle Ramu have done.
Two former MPs, Ben Semeri and Tommy Tomscoll, were on the Government side with senior ministries for two terms (10 years) but never did anything.
Unbelievable.
Did government allocate less funds (DSIP) to Middle Ramu than to other electorates?
I don’t think so.
Where did all these funds go?
I appeal to our current MP Johnny Alonk to engage an audit team to look into this.
I want to challenge and encourage our current MP: please do
not follow our former MPs’ footsteps.
We have been in the dark enough. Stand tall and show yourself who you are to former MPs and the people of Middle Ramu.
Obviously, the rundown government buildings, schools, hospitals, airstrips etc we see in Aiome and Simbai stations were built in colonial days.
If I was the MP, I would divert all the funds to a very vital infrastructure: roads.
We cannot operate good and successful businesses, schools, hospitals etc in thick, isolated jungles.
Roads are the solution to all the services. An electorate like Middle Ramu definitely needs a road from Madang to Aiome and Mt Hagen to Simbai station.
I see we are going backwards while the rest of the districts in the country are moving forward.
Come on Johnny Alonk. Do something.
