EDUCATION Minister Nick Kuman, pictured, has warned schools throughout the country not to charge project fees this
year.
He said since 2015, the Government has banned project fees when it introduced the tuition fee-free (TFF) policy.
“There is no need for the schools to charge project fees.
“This year there is no change in the policy that we have announced in 2015.
“The money we are giving, all of it is in the TFF. We are paying the school fees for all our parents this academic year.
“We have delivered to the schools for the 2.1 million students; the Government is paying for their school fees.”
He said the Government was committed to delivering the TFF policy.
Kuman has also urged teachers to be in the school on Monday to resume classes.
“I challenge all teachers out there and I urged all the provincial education boards and the provincial education advisors, I don’t want any teacher on the streets.
“The demand for teachers in this country is more than 70,000.
“We do not have that number.
“We want to make sure that school starts smoothly in the beginning of the year, and it must finish at the end of the year.”
