WAPENAMANDA MP Rimbink Pato has called on Health and HIV/AIDS Minister Jelta Wong to “confirm the true extent as a matter of fact the impact of the coronavirus in his statement to the Parliament and the people of Papua New Guinea”.
Pato, a former Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister, questioned Wong on the mortality rate of the killer disease globally and in PNG. He said that there was so much misinformation and rumours on social media which had the potential to create panic and harm in “our society”.
“The Health and HIV/AIDS Minister Jelta Wong in any of his statement to the Parliament and or the people of Papua New Guinea must confirm the true extent as a matter of fact before giving his speech.”
